Aurora Cannabis is facing a class action from patients who claim the company failed to warn users about CHS risk. Should cannabis companies be required to include CHS warnings on their products?
Absolutely they should. The evidence for CHS has been accumulating for years and is now well established. Selling a product without disclosing a known serious health risk is not acceptable in any industry.
The comparison to tobacco litigation is apt. We went decades with tobacco companies hiding health evidence. The cannabis industry should not be allowed to repeat that pattern. Informed consent requires full disclosure of known risks.
I was never warned about CHS when I started using cannabis. Not by the dispensary, not by anything I read. I might have made different choices with better information. This lawsuit matters regardless of outcome.
