How to Get Rid of Weed Brain Fog

Weed brain fog is unpleasant but almost always temporary, and a handful of straightforward things speed up how quickly it clears.

Prioritize sleep — real sleep

Since THC reduces REM sleep even when it helps you fall asleep faster, sleep debt is often part of what’s driving the fog. Giving yourself a full, uninterrupted night’s sleep is one of the more effective single things you can do.

Hydrate and eat something

Mild dehydration and low blood sugar both worsen mental fog on their own, and cannabis can contribute to both. Water and a balanced meal won’t clear THC out any faster, but they remove other factors that are stacking on top of it.

Move your body

Light exercise increases blood flow and can noticeably sharpen focus within 20–30 minutes. It doesn’t need to be intense — a walk is often enough to take the edge off.

Give it time

For fog tied to a single session, this usually resolves within a few hours to a day on its own. What doesn’t help

Using more cannabis to “push through” fog just adds to the load your body has to process. Caffeine can create a temporary sense of alertness but doesn’t clear the underlying fog.
